For over 200 years, JPD has been dedicated to the breeding and health of Nishikigoi. What began in 1819 as ornamental fish breeding – so exceptional in quality that it supplied the Japanese Shogun – has developed into a world-leading expert in fish medicine and high-end koi food.
In 1964, JPD developed „Swimmy“, the world's first floating koi food, setting a global standard that remains in place to this day.

Pharmaceutical safety
As the market leader in fish medicine in Japan (with a market share of around 90%), JPD manufactures its feed in accordance with strict GMP guidelines — the same standard that applies to medicines.

Crystal clear water
Extremely dimensionally stable pellets do not disintegrate in water. This massively relieves the filter system — cleaning intervals can halve in practice.

Fujiyama — The Daily Bread
The economical premium staple food for regular operation. Fujiyama offers healthy, balanced standard growth thanks to natural ingredients like fish meal and tofu — extremely stable in shape, water-friendly, suitable for year-round use with stable water temperatures.
Fujiyama is everyday solid.
Yamato – The grub for the photoshoot
High-quality colour food for the targeted optimisation of pigmentation. Natural astaxanthin intensifies the red of Koi, while heat-resistant vitamin C keeps the white skin areas (Shiroji) brightly clear. High digestibility ensures that the colour-active ingredients work directly in the fish - without clouding the water.
Use in stably warm temperatures, when metabolism is running at full speed.

Shori — The Growth Feed
Super-premium growth feed for maximum results. With a protein content of 45%, Shori ensures rapid weight gain — whilst the formula also protects the liver and supports bone development. Probiotics such as Toyoserin stabilise the gut flora and significantly reduce nitrogen excretion.
Use only in midsummer with stable warm water from approx. 18°C.
Shori is making big gains without organ strain.
Fujizakura — The Protective Vest
Immune-stimulating special feed for health and regeneration. Ingredients like β-glucan and yeast activate the immune system and promote the formation of a protective mucus layer. Ideal after medical treatments, for new stock or during significant weather changes.
Particularly important in the critical temperature window between 10°C and 15°C – when koi are most susceptible to outbreaks of disease.
Fujizakura is the internal protective vest.
Shogun — The versatile all-weather option
Highly digestible all-year-round and winter food based on super wheat germ - optimally usable even with a slowed metabolism. Grape seed oil protects the skin from oxidation and maintains shine, lactoferrin strengthens the immune defence in the cold.
Can be used all year round — especially in very low or fluctuating temperatures.

JPD Fujiyama Koi food is a floating, premium staple food for koi and is suitable for regular feeding in stable conditions. The formulation is designed for balanced nutrition, good feed intake, and clean, controlled feeding in the pond.
As an economical everyday variety in the JPD range, Fujiyama combines high-quality raw ingredients such as fishmeal and tofu with dimensionally stable pellets and stabilised vitamin C. Ideal for Koi keepers looking for a reliable basic food for regular feeding.
JPD Fujizakura
JPD Fujizakura Koi food is a floating specialist food for koi during sensitive and stressful periods. The formulation with β-glucans, yeast, probiotic components, and stabilised vitamin C is designed for condition, natural defences, and controlled feeding in stressful situations.
Fujizakura is particularly suitable in the critical temperature range from approximately 10°C, for new additions, after relocation, after treatments, or during extreme weather changes. It is not a growth or colour food, but a targeted build-up food for phases where stability and feed compatibility are paramount.
JPD Shogun
JPD Shogun Koi Food is a floating, all-season feed for koi, and is particularly suitable for cool, changeable, or unpredictably timed feeding periods. The easily digestible formula, based on wheatgerm, supports koi even when their metabolism is slower due to temperature.
Shogun is the versatile JPD variety for pond owners seeking a high-quality food for transitional periods, winter phases, and changing conditions. Ingredients such as grape seed oil, lactoferrin, and natural colour components support condition, skin quality, and controlled feeding.
JPD Shori
JPD Shori Koi Food is a floating growth feed for koi containing 45 % protein, probiotic ingredients and stabilised vitamin C. The formula is designed for periods of intensive growth, good feed intake and the targeted development of body mass.
Shori is particularly suitable for the warmer months with a stable water temperature. For Koi to make good use of the high protein content, feeding activity, water quality, oxygen supply, and filter performance should be appropriate for intensive feeding.
JPD Yamato
JPD Yamato Koi Food is a floating colour food for koi, designed for colour intensity, skin quality and good feed conversion. The formulation with natural astaxanthin, stabilised vitamin C and high-quality ingredients particularly supports the red colour sections and the well-groomed overall appearance of the koi.
Yamato is suitable for warm feeding phases from around 15°C water temperature, when the Koi's metabolism is active. The dimensionally stable pellets facilitate controlled feeding and help to avoid unnecessary food residue in the water.
